A Florida lawyer for personal injuries was barred from practicing following allegations of murdering four persons in a parking space because of “voices” inside her head. Police said.
Beatrice Bijoux, 31, was arrested on four counts of attempted murder when she had allegedly crossed the steps and struck pedestrians in front of a Fort Lauderdale grocery store back in February.
They were told by her she believed that “voices within her head ordered her to kill peoplearound her,” according to the arrest report that was obtained through The Miami Herald.
Bijoux the suspect, traveling at around 35 mph, did not attempt to slow his speed during the assault, as police claimed.
In one instance, the surveillance footage showed her “reversing at a rapid rate of speed” prior to her alleged attempt to hit a pedestrian according to the cops.
The lawyer has been banned from practicing by the State Supreme Court granted the Florida Bar’s request for emergency suspension of her.
Bijoux the lawyer, who had previously represented injured clients in these instances, was accepted into the bar association of the state at the time of 2016.
The woman is in custody without bond following her plea of not to be guilty of one charge of assault using a weapon that is deadly, one count of high-speed or wanton escape, as well as four charges of attempted murder.
