POTTSTOWN, Pa. – The family of the Pottstown home was destroyed last week killing 4 kids and their grandmother, employed an lawyer.

Wapner Newman the Philadelphia-based personal injury law firm, announced that it would “fight to hold the perpetrators accountable” following the deadly explosion that took place Thursday evening at Hale Street, and “secure justice” for the victim’s family.

The firm is a provider of individuals with personal injuries and wrongful deaths cases all over Pennsylvania as well as New Jersey.

Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the explosion, however an attorney for Wapner Newman claims that neighbors were often smelling gas within the vicinity prior to the incident.

A neighbor informed 69 News the smell of gas around the area has been a problem for many years as well as that firefighters had been repeatedly called.

If asked about the story at a press conference this week, Pottstown Borough Manager Justin Keller explained that the issue was one investigators had been looking at.

Workers from the utility firm PECO removed several massive pipes that were buried beneath Hale Street on Tuesday. PECO said that it was “retiring the infrastructure.”
