Fuller & Fuller: A Family Business From the Beginning

in 1972 Fuller & Fuller opened its doors to the Olympia community. It was owned by of lawyers who practice and the newlyweds Herbert and Carol Fuller. They first met while attending the law school and Carol having graduated as the only woman of her cohort.

Carol was a judge with Herb for a number of years prior to being appointed and elected one of the very first judges to be female in King County in Washington State. Carol was proud to serve from 1979 until 1992 as a judge of the superior court after which she returned to the firm.

Meanwhile the daughter Marya Fuller followed the footsteps of her parents to become a lawyer and joined the family firm. She completed her law studies at the University of Washington and worked at various levels within the company before being a partner the year 1986.

Marya has enjoyed serving in her local community as a personal injury attorney over the past 36 years, along with her siblings, parents and sister. Both of her parents had retired and died over the course of the past few years. However, throughout their lifetimes, Marya knows they were delighted to be working in tandem with their children as well as together. “They loved seeing our family in the same place,” shares Marya. “All 3 of our determined that that’s the route we would like to proceed I feel this really provided the security to be an entire family. Although it’s only me right this moment, I’m continuing to keep the name of my firm and am enjoying the name.”
